Overview: The N3 Internship is a summer program designed for neurodivergent high school students, specifically those who identify as autistic. Interns will work with NASA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on projects in fields such as planetary science, astrophysics, computer science, and engineering. The goal is to provide STEM career exposure and hands-on research experience.

Key Information:

  • Location: Remote (virtual internship)

  • Modality: Remote, flexible format

  • Compensation: $1,000 stipend upon completion

  • Time Commitment: At least 160 hours between June 1 and September 1, 2025

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a high school student and 16 years or older by 2025

  • Must identify as autistic

  • Preference given to rising seniors (Class of 2026), but rising juniors and graduating seniors may apply

  • Must have completed pre-calculus and at least two years of physical science courses (e.g., earth science, chemistry, or physics)

  • Applicants with calculus and two years of physical science are more likely to be selected

  • Must submit a teacher recommendation letter

  • Application materials can be submitted in audio, video, or written format to accommodate different communication needs
