Overview: Kairos Power offers a 12-week Mechanical Engineering Internship for Summer 2025 at their Alameda, CA, or Albuquerque, NM locations. Interns will work on engineering projects to support the company’s mission of commercializing clean energy technology through the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR). Areas include Engineering Test, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Design, Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Quality Engineering.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current student pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Reliability, Systems, Nuclear Engineering, or related fields

  • Demonstrated technical application skills through projects, research, or prior internships

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB)

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality control, and testing methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills

  • U.S. Citizenship or authorization under export control regulations
