Overview: The Family Care Center welcomes volunteers, ages 18 and up, to support their mission of providing care and education to children and families in Lexington, KY. Training is provided, and a criminal background check (paid for by the center) is required for all positions. Volunteer Opportunities Include: High school tutoring in Math/English, Reading to children ages 2-4, Library organization and monitoring, Gardening in the courtyard (groups welcome), Grounds and facility maintenance (groups welcome), Job readiness coaching, and Internships and practicums in areas like social work, nursing, early childhood development, and case management

Eligibility Requirements:

• Ages 18+

• High school students (Spanish language skills preferred but not required)

• College students or KTAP recipients for structured internships and apprenticeships

• Background check required
