Tufts Medicine Communication Student Intern

Overview ; This role focuses on supporting the career development of employees by developing education, training curricula, materials, and programs to support their current and future talent needs. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Student Education duties: Continues clinical training and providing exceptional care to patients. Areas of education include residents, fellows, Pharmacy, Imaging, medical students, and bachelors level interns. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non-clinical) operating in a “hands on” environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. An entry level role that typically requires little to no prior knowledge or experience, work is routine or follows standard procedures, work is closely supervised, and communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation.

Job Overview

Student intern will work under the supervision of a faculty member on a defined project in line with educational goals. Specific tasks and learning objectives will be defined by the student and faculty member.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

  • This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending/descending stairs and operating office equipment.

  • Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.

  • Ability to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel computer applications.

  • Excellent and meticulous organizational and technical skills are of the utmost importance as are documentation skills, and interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, under supervision and as a part of a team.
