Overview: Element Biosciences is seeking a Surface Chemistry Intern to assist the Surface Chemistry team in evaluating surface design performance using basic assays and testing cell-specific responses based on antibodies. This internship provides hands-on experience in wet-lab chemistry or biology, exposure to cutting-edge sequencing technologies, and opportunities to develop professional skills. Interns will also engage with leaders across the organization to gain career insights.

• Location: San Diego, California (onsite)

• Modality: In-person

• Compensation: $25–$40 per hour (based on degree and experience)

• Estimated Time Commitment: Full-time

Eligibility Requirements:

• PhD candidates preferred; undergraduates in science or engineering programs also eligible

• Fields of study include Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Science, Chemical Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or equivalent

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills

• Must be a self-starter and comfortable with conducting professional presentations

• Research experience is a plus
