Overview: The Student Organizer Internship Program offers students an opportunity to work with Supervisor Lawson-Remer’s office, focusing on advancing economic justice and pro-environmental initiatives. Interns will collaborate with community partners, attend events, and contribute to the Supervisor’s agenda while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced policy environment.
Key Information:
Location: San Diego, CA
Modality: Hybrid (in-person meetings, events, and flexible scheduling)
Compensation: Pay rate is commensurate with experience, based on County ordinance
Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, with a preference for a yearlong commitment; includes some evening and weekend events
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a full-time student at a local high school, vocational program, job readiness program, or accredited college/university with at least a 2.0 GPA
Interest in promoting a transformative agenda at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors
Strong interpersonal skills; experience in community organizing, grassroots organizations, casework, or customer care is a plus
Bilingual speaking and writing skills are welcome
Must submit a “student unit load verification” at the beginning and end of each semester/quarter
