Social Media Assistant Internship

Overview: The Social Media Assistant will work with the Special Olympics Southern California team to maintain the organization’s social media presence. Responsibilities include creating social media posts, producing videos, writing articles, interacting with the audience, and covering events live on social media. This role can be performed in-person or remotely.
Key Information:
Location: Remote, with in-person attendance required for local events
Modality: Hybrid (Remote and In-Person as needed)
Compensation: Non-paid internship/volunteer
Time Commitment: Minimum 10 hours per week, six-month commitment required; local travel may be necessary
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be 18 or older
Strong writing and content creation skills
Experience with Canva for creating visual content
Ability to interact with and engage audiences on social media platforms
Must have own computer with reliable internet and video recording capabilities; SOSC will provide necessary software
Complete volunteer application, orientation, protective behaviors training, and background check
Must adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct
