Overview: The Mosaics Internship at Cabrillo National Monument focuses on natural resource management, engaging participants in bird monitoring, data analysis, and science communication. Interns will gain valuable field experience and develop reports analyzing land bird trends from 2017-2025, contributing to the park’s conservation efforts.

  • Location: Cabrillo National Monument, San Diego, CA

  • Modality: Onsite

  • Compensation: $768 per week + housing

  • Estimated time commitment: May 19, 2025 - August 9, 2025 (12 weeks)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • U.S. citizen or legal resident with a valid driver’s license

  • Enrolled undergraduate student with graduation after internship end date

  • Interest in natural resources management, ecology, or biology

  • Growth mindset and willingness to learn R programming

  • Comfortable working outdoors and hiking up to 2 miles in varied weather conditions

  • Experience in science communication preferred but not required
