Overview: A-DA’s IT Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Programs offer a pathway to careers in technology through an “earn and learn” model. Participants gain hands-on experience and technical training, earning certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ during the 8-month pre-apprenticeship. The program is fully funded by a $3.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, providing free training and exam costs.

Location: San Diego, CA
Modality: In-person for training sessions, with possible on-the-job training
Compensation: Free program, no paid pre-apprenticeship
Time Commitment: 8 months, 20 hours of study per week, classes two days a week.
Eligibility Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (proof required)
Pre-Apprenticeship available to ages 17-24. While apprenticeship is age 21 or older (no maximum age)
Grade 10 reading and Grade 9 math proficiency
Legal right to work in the U.S.
IT coursework is encouraged but not required
Ability to pass drug tests and background checks
