Overview: The CAREERworks Cybersecurity Training Program offers free, federally funded training for Information Technology professionals seeking additional certifications. Participants gain access to comprehensive 8-10 week training through the CompTIA Certified Academy, covering certifications such as CySA+, Security+, and A+. The program also provides job readiness training, employment assistance, and paid internship opportunities for hands-on experience.

• Modality: Self-paced online and in-person training

• Compensation: Free training program; internship opportunities at $20/hr for 200 hours

• Time Commitment: 8-10 weeks, plus optional internship hours

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older with at least a high school diploma

• Unemployed, underemployed, transitioning military (within 180 days of EOS), or unemployed Veteran

• If employed, documentation from the employer is needed to show the potential for wage increase, promotion, or job retention with certification

• Legal right to work in the U.S.

• No criminal background (minor offenses may be acceptable)

• Males must be registered for selective service

• Proof of San Diego residency required
