Overview: Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing internship offers students a hands-on, full-time experience in high-speed automated manufacturing systems. Interns will work alongside engineering teams in electrical controls and design, developing projects from concept to implementation across Tesla’s manufacturing sites. This internship focuses on real-world impact, mentorship, and technical growth in the field of electrical engineering.
Key Information:
Location: San Diego, CA (with possible placements in Palo Alto, Fremont, Austin, Robstown, Reno, or Toronto)
Modality: In-person
Compensation: $20.00 – $50.00/hour + benefits
Estimated Time Commitment: Full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks (May through August 2025, possibly extending into Fall)
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled as a student
Basic understanding of control panels, electrical systems, PLC hardware, and control standards (NFPA, IEC, UL)
Familiarity with Beckhoff/Siemens systems, EtherCat, FSoE, ProfiNet, and ProfiSafe
International students must ensure CPT allows 40 hours/week full-time onsite
Strong interest in electrical design, automation, or control systems
