Overview: The National September 11 Memorial & Museum honors the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. Visitor Services volunteers play an essential role in creating a meaningful experience for millions of visitors from around the world by providing assistance and sharing information about the Memorial and Museum.

Key Information:

  • Roles: Greeting visitors, providing information about exhibitions and programs, offering assistance, and helping with directions.

  • Location: 9/11 Memorial & Museum, New York, NY

  • Time Commitment: A four-hour shift per week for at least six months. Weekend volunteers have the option of volunteering one 4-hour shift every other week.

  • Training Provided: Volunteers will receive training to provide excellent service and assist in creating a memorable and respectful visitor experience.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

  • Open to friendly, outgoing individuals from NYC and the tri-state area.

  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
