Organization Overview:
The RiseBoro Youth Mentorship Program pairs adult mentors with young people to provide guidance, support, and motivation. The program aims to help youth in underserved communities in Brooklyn build confidence, develop essential life skills, and navigate personal and academic challenges. Mentors play a crucial role in helping mentees reach their full potential through consistent, supportive relationships.

Key Information:

  • Location: Brooklyn, New York

  • Modality: In-person (mentorship takes place in community settings and schools)

  • Compensation: Unpaid volunteer position

  • Estimated Time Commitment: Typically 4-6 hours per month, with a commitment of at least one year

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to adults aged 21 and older

  • Must complete a volunteer application, background check, and attend training

  • U.S. citizenship or legal residency required

  • Mentors should demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting youth and fostering long-term, positive relationships
