Organization Overview: The San Diego County Democratic Party is the official organization for Democrats in the fifth-largest county in the U.S. With more than 730,000 members, we represent the second-largest community of Democrats in California. As the local embodiment of "America's Majority Party" for voters and candidates alike, we advance our goals through several ongoing programs: voter registration, precinct organizing, candidate support, communications, and lastly fundraising & infrastructure.

Key Information: The San Diego County Democratic Party is recruiting a dynamic team of student volunteers to ensure the re-election of a party-endorsed grassroots organizer, economist, and educator who has continuously stood by Democratic values.   • Location: La Jolla, CA

  • Compensation: Unpaid, but can receive academic credit and volunteer hours.

  • Estimated Time Commitment: Start date is flexible dependent on when you apply and end date is November 5th 2024, and you would be expected to dedicate 10 hours and 1 canvass per week.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Passionate about Democratic values

  • One cycle of organizing experience on a political or advocacy campaign

  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers

  • Ability to listen to volunteers and go the extra mile to show the campaign’s appreciation for them

  • Experience meeting deadlines and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously

  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate needs and expectations to senior staff and consultants

  • Ability to support on some evenings and weekends

  • Access to a cell phone and vehicle
