Organization Overview: The San Diego County Democratic Party is the official organization for Democrats in the fifth-largest county in the U.S. With more than 730,000 members, we represent the second-largest community of Democrats in California. As the local embodiment of "America's Majority Party" for voters and candidates alike, we advance our goals through several ongoing programs: voter registration, precinct organizing, candidate support, communications, and lastly fundraising & infrastructure.
Key Information: The San Diego County Democratic Party is recruiting a dynamic team of student volunteers to ensure the re-election of a party-endorsed grassroots organizer, economist, and educator who has continuously stood by Democratic values. Location: La Jolla, CA
Compensation: Unpaid, but can receive academic credit and volunteer hours.
Estimated Time Commitment: Start date is flexible dependent on when you apply and end date is November 5th 2024, and you would be expected to dedicate 10 hours and 1 canvass per week.

Eligibility Requirements:
Passionate about Democratic values
One cycle of organizing experience on a political or advocacy campaign
Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers
Ability to listen to volunteers and go the extra mile to show the campaign’s appreciation for them
Experience meeting deadlines and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate needs and expectations to senior staff and consultants
Ability to support on some evenings and weekends
Access to a cell phone and vehicle
