Organization Overview: The Times of San Diego is an independent news website that covers the San Diego area.
Key Information:
This paid internship will give students the opportunity to cover local news, strengthen website production skills and expand their social media expertise. The internships will be tailored to the specific students’ skills and interests, and it could include experiences covering breaking news, politics, sports and features; overseeing the website; writing headlines and copy editing; creating social media content; editing visuals and/or researching and fact checking.
Location: San Diego, CA
Modality: Hybrid
Compensation: $20/hour
Estimated Time Commitment: Part-time 15-20 hours per week for about 14 weeks. Beginning in January and ending in May.
Eligibility Requirements:
A degree-seeking student currently enrolled in a journalism or communications-related program at a college or university who has completed the equivalent of at least one year of college.
A degree-seeking graduate student enrolled in a journalism or communications-related program at a college or university.
A recent graduate from a journalism or communications-related program at a college or university.
