To assist MBOO staff with various duties and provide an opportunity to learn the roles of an Environmental Scientist/Marine Biologist and work in public service. Under direct supervision, the interns will participate in a variety of projects including but not limited to collection of samples, equipment maintenance and assembly, creating and editing outreach materials, assisting with MBOO duties, and selecting a research project. Intern must be comfortable working at sea to assist in the field.Gain experience in the field of ocean monitoring and grow an understanding of duties for a City Environmental Scientist. Manage and complete an independent research project. Learn to use a statistical programming language. Be able to assemble field equipment and organize a taxonomic collection. Produce and update outreach materials.
