Organization Overview:
The Children's Project NYC Mentorship Program pairs adult mentors with children in foster care to provide them with the guidance, support, and encouragement they need to succeed. The program focuses on building long-term, meaningful relationships between mentors and mentees, helping youth in foster care develop life skills, improve academic outcomes, and achieve personal growth.

Key Information:

  • Location: New York City

  • Modality: In-person (mentorship takes place in community settings and foster care facilities)

  • Compensation: Unpaid volunteer position

  • Estimated Time Commitment: Minimum of 4-6 hours per month, with a commitment of at least one year

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to adults aged 21 and older

  • Must complete a volunteer application, background check, and interview process

  • U.S. citizenship or legal residency required

  • Mentors should demonstrate a commitment to supporting foster youth and building positive, long-term relationships
